BellaPierre Waterproof Mineral Gel Eyeliner Review and Comparison

Today I will be reviewing the BellaPierre Waterproof Mineral Gel Eyeliner and comparing it to the Urban Decay 24/7 Glide On Eye Pencil in Perversion. I like Perversion but I don't like spending $20 on one eyeliner BellaPierre is Only $14 and while it's not exactly cheap it's definitely less than $20

I'm going to be honest and say that the BellePierre packaging looks cheap. It looks like I got it at a dollar store. Urban Decay packaging looks and feels high end. I go through eyeliner too much to care about the packaging but I know it matters to some people. Now to the important stuff

The product is the most important thing. Urban Decay Perversion is the blackest liner i have ever owned. BellaPierre at first swipe is the same as most black liners but with a second swipe it is just as dark as Perversion. It passes the color test. Now the second most important thing is the staying power. This is what I loved the most about this liner. I have oily lids. I have to constantly check my eyes to wipe away smudges. UD Perversion stays put the longest and BP is right up there with it. I tried to wipe the swatches away to do a test and they would not budge. I had to scrub with makeup remover a few times to get them to come off completely. The day after I wore BP out to the supermarket and the bank and it wore just as well as my UD.

If the Urban Decay liner is just a bit outside your budget I definitely recommend the BellaPierre. I will probably repurchase this when I run out

May 2015 Ipsy Bag

May is almost over so I think I should at least start posting the items I got in My May Ipsy bag. This month we got a makeup bag from Breakups To Makeup which on their own are pretty pricey. The bag is made from canvas and was made exclusively for Ipsy. As you may already know Ipsy sends you five items based off a few questions you answer while making an account. Sometimes the bags are great and others are bleh. Ipsy is $10 a month and you earn Ipsy Points every time you leave feedback about your bag on the Ipsy page. On to the bag.

I see a nice mix of products this time. There are hair products, cleansers, and makeup. Sometimes I get all cleansers and hair products or all makeup, which I don't mind, but I prefer when it's a mix.

Ipsy doesn't include a card with the product information and prices so I'm going to put in what I find on Google. This bag included
  • Pixi By Petra Beauty Bronzer in Summertime. This is not a full size. It's only 0.16 oz while the full size is 0.36 oz and retails for $18. The full size also comes with a little kabuki brush.
  • Alterna Haircare Caviar CC Cream 10-In-1 Complete Correction Leave In Hair Perfecter. This is 0.85 oz and the full sized bottles are 2.5oz ($25) and 5.1oz ($39)
  • Peter Lamas Detoxifying Citrus C Facial Cleanser. This is 1 fl oz with the full size being 4 fl oz and retailing for $24
  • BellaPierre Cosmetics Waterproof Mineral Gel Eyeliner Pencil. This is a full at 0.06 oz and it retails for $14.
  • Urban Decay 24/7 Glide On Lip Pencil. This is 0.02 oz and the full size is 0.04 oz which retails for $20
  • Bonus Item Urban Decay Revolution High Color Lipgloss samples in Failbait and Bittersweet. The full sized glosses are 0.17 fl oz and they retail for $22

I plan to have every item reviewed before the June Ipsy bag ships so stay tuned for those and the VoxBox reviews

Influenster Fresca VoxBox

Earlier this month I received my very first VoxBox from Influenster. I will be reviewing each of the products separately instead of cramming them into on post. Even though I received these products free for review purpose I will be giving my honest review. If I do not like a product I will tell you. I don't like being lied to and I doubt anyone out there really likes it either. For now here's a little preview of whats to come

I was pretty excited when I saw this in my mailbox.

So right on top there were three little cards. One was a coupon for Sally Hansen Airbrush Legs [one of the products I got to review] One was a list of everything that came in the box and the price for a full size. The last cad explained how to use the Jafra perfume and perfume samples I received.

This is what came in the box
  • Pure Silk Moisturizing Shave Cream. The can is 5 oz and the card says its a retail value of        $1.49. The full size is 8 oz and retails for $2.19
  • JAFRA Blends Blackberry Juniper Magnolia No. 3 Eau De Toilette 1 oz which retails for $22
  • Not Your Mother's Clean Freak Purifying Shampoo 1 fl oz. The card says its a retail value of $3. The full size is 8 fl oz and retails for $7
  • Not Your Mother's Clean Freak Purifying Conditioner 1 fl oz. This is also a $3 value with the full size of 8 fl oz being $7
  • NYC Expert Last Lip Lacquer in Rockaway Red. This is a full size and it retails for $3.99
  • Neutrogena Healthy Skin Boosters Daily Scrub. This is a sample size and the card doesn't have the retail value listed but the full size is 4.2 fl oz and that retails for $7.99
  • Sally Hansen Airbrush Legs Water Resistant Leg Makeup In the shade Light. This is the one product I got to choose the shade of. The sample size is 0.75 fl oz and there is no retail value for this size. The full size is 4 fl oz and that retails for $13.99
  • JAFRA Eau De Toilette 3 vial sample pack which includes No. 1 Violet Pomegranate, No. 2 Sea Salt Rose Petals and No. 3 Blackberry Juniper Magnolia

The box also included a little plastic bag that said JAFRA but I couldn't find it when I was taking these pictures. If it turns up before I take the pictures for the review on the perfumes I'll include it there. I'm really excited to try everything out and hopefully find something that I love enough to purchase the full size of.

Changes

I finally came up with a permanent name for my blog and I couldn't be happier. From now on my blog will be Lipstick in your Tea instead of janechemi/allthatsparkles which I used as a working name. I will also be reviewing my monthly subscription boxes such and Ipsy and I will be doing weekly tea posts as well. I had to stop blogging for a while because of school but I am done now and I have a little more time to devote to this

Suave Professionals Dry Shampoo Review

One thing I really struggle with is oil. I have oily skin AND oily hair and I usually have to wash my hair every single day, even the days I'm only going to the supermarket because I feel absolutely gross going out with greasy hair. Recently I have been experimenting with different drugstore dry shampoos and this is the latest one. I forgot to take a picture of the bottle before I tossed it so I'm using a stock photo from Walmart's website. I picked this up at Rite Aid for around $3 and I think that's a great price. You get 5oz of product and the bottle lasted me a little over a month. I only use it when I'm going to run some errands and I don't want to wash my hair for it. I color my hair so washing it every day washes the color out quicker. I have thick wavy hair just to give you a base for comparison.

The first time I used this I noticed it had a wonderful grapefruit scent to it. It does absorb the oils pretty well and doesn't leave any white in your hair as long as you aren't using too much. This also doesn't change the texture of your hair like the suave keratin dry shampoo (golden bottle).

Now onto the bad. Sadly the oil free goodness doesn't last for too long. It's perfect if you're just running to the supermarket or running a couple of quick errands but I wouldn't recommend this for anyone looking to skip an extra day between washes, It just isn't that long lasting and reapplying too often will leave that ugly white build up I mentioned earlier.

For the price I will definitely continue to use this until I find something better especially since I see this at target in a two pack very often.

Wet n' Wild Pop Art Coloricon Eye Shadow Trios

Hello again lovelies, today I have for you 3 of the new Pop Art trios from Wet n' Wild. I was waiting until I was able to get all the palettes but after finally seeing them all in person I decided only these three were going to work for me. These (like all my swatches, unless otherwise stated) are just the eye shadow, no primer.

These are the three palettes that I bought. From left to right, There's A Party, Your 15 Minutes Aren't Up, I'm Seeing Triplets.

Your 15 Minutes Aren't Up in the palette is a bright sunny yellow, a powdery lavender, and a pretty pink. They look so bright and pretty in the pan but once they get on the skin it's kind of a let down. The yellow is chalky and pastel like. the lavender is indeed powdery but the most pigmented. and the pink could almost pass as a blush. It's not really what I expected. Maybe over a primer it will be better.

This is I'm Seeing Triplets. pigmentation is a little better on this one. The green one is the least pigmented of the three. The blue one is the boldest, very pretty. I like it but oddly enough it stains, A LOT. Once again the pink one could pass as a blush.

Last but not least is There's A Party. This one's the one I wanted the most. I have been chasing after 'Enter A New Realm' since I missed it when it released. I'm happy to have this as a substitute. Sadly though it isn't living up to my expectations. The red isn't as vibrant as I hoped but the white and black are surprisingly pigmented.

Overall I think these look better in the pan than on skin. I don't think they live up to the hype but at the low price I don't feel like they're too much of a loss.

What do you guys think?

I don't know about you but I would've loved it if M.A.C sounds like noise would've been a viva glam. Viva glam Hayley? I also wouldn't liked if it had been a brighter orange. Like the maybelline vivids. RiRi woo would've been nice as a viva glam too. M.A.C. viva glam RiRi? I don't know. Just a thought.
